A Discourse on Winning and Losing

About

This project involved creating an original book cover for a book on military theory titled A Discourse on Winning and Losing by Colonel John Boyd. The final cover design features a schematic for a snowmobile which references his famous metaphor that “winners” are those who can ‘build snowmobiles’, which refers to the ability to analyze diverse systems and synthesize their components appropriately to a new context.

I chose Akzidenz Grotesque and Trade Gothic as the typeface families, and used a cool earthy green, for this work to allude to the military nature of the work.
