For this project I ceated an original cover and layout for a regional special interest magazine. I chose to embrace a retro style, harkening back to literary magazines from the 1910s-1940s. To get this classic feel I used Sabon and Didot as my main typefaces. I also treated my images to a halftone effect to simulate old-school magazine photos.

The magazine cover photo was composed of original shots which were manipulated to create a dramatic effect. I wanted to simulate the budget constraints of older magazine publishers that could only afford so many color plates for their spreads.
